For as long as anyone can remember, I have always been obsessed with animals. I was always the kid that was easiest to buy presents and birthday cards. If it had a dog, cat or horse on it, I was happy. My room was covered with plastic horses and posters with dogs and cats. Growing up, I had a couple cats and a brief “adopted” dog that wandered into our yard. I took such good care of that dog until the owners reclaimed him.

When I moved off to college, I started in Business. Within a semester I had changed my major to Animal Science, got a job at a vet’s office, bought a horse, and of course adopted a dog and cat. After college, I continued to work off and on for veterinarians, as I trained horses. Finally, in 2002, I decided that the hard labor from working in the equine industry was becoming too much on my joints, and went back to working full time with cats and dogs.

For the past 15 years, I have also been owned by a small “pack” of Jack Russell Terriers, traveling across the country to dog shows. I currently have four Jack Russells Terriers, ranging in age from 6 years old to almost 11 years. They show no signs of slowing down.
